Office Timing:
Passport  Office  Is  Open  From  Monday  To   Friday   Except   On   Declared   Holidays.  Online Applications  Are  Accepted  Across  The Counter  From 9.00 A.M To 01.00 Pm On The Appointed Date On A 1st To Last Time Slot Basis Which Is Regulated By Daily Token System.  Appointment To Meet The Officers Will Be Given From 9.30 A.M To 12 Noon In The Enquiry Counter.

Functions and Duties:
Passport office deals with the issuance of passport/travel document to the citizens of 2 districts of  Northern Kerala – Malappuram and Palakkad.

How to apply:
One can apply through online registered application at Passport Office Malappuram OR at Superintendent of Police/DCP office of the district (DPC) OR at Speed Post Centre of the city. District Passport Cells (DPCs) attached to the Offices of the District Superintendents of Police are aimed at achieving greater efficiencies in the police verification process, as it is organized directly by the DPCs and the applications are forwarded to PO Malappuram  along with the police reports.  Following is the list of DPCs currently operational in the two districts under the jurisdiction of Passport Office, Malappuram

How to arrange documents:
One set of self attested photo copies of all documents as indicated by you at col. 20 may be securely attached between page 2 and 3 of the application form using tag or stapler and a 2nd set  has to be attached between completed Personal Particulars forms.

1.Tatkal- On payment of additional fee, Tatkal passports are issued with the support of 3 documents as enumerated in the information booklet or Verification Certificate with  Annexure I sworn affidavit and on a personal appearance of applicant. Passport will be sent by speed post within 7 calendar days. Any reissue/ additional booklet issued within 4 working days will also come under tatkal service. Normal passport applications are processed on 1st come 1st served basis after completion of 30 days and will be sent by speed post only. Exceptional counter delivery promised  passports will be delivered at the office counter.

2. Renewal- Reissue and Duplicate Passport applications are also accepted in EAP-I Form only. Application for Duplicate Passport has to be supported with Passport Loss Report obtained from local Police Station if Passport is lost in India. If arrived on Emergency Certificate from a foreign country, Emergency Certificate Surrender Slip from the Air Port or Original Emergency Certificate should be attached with the application for Duplicate Passport giving full details of previous Passport held.

3.Emigration Clearance- Miscellaneous services like Emigration Clearance Required endorsement cancellation & Police Clearance Certificate  (Subject to availability of Police Verification Report) are being rendered on a day to day basis. PCC on a Passport issued from another office will require confirmation of Passport or fresh Police Verification.
