MIMS Kottakkal is a part of MIMS (Malabr Institute of Medical Science) Calicut. It is a Super Specialty Hospital was started in 2001. The aim behind the project is provide advanced medical treatments of international standards at affordable rates.
Within a short span of time, it got recognition one of the best multi specialty hospital in South India. It has Tele Medicine facility, 24 Hour Emergency Service, Global Health care standard.
MIMS Kottakkal has 12 fully equipped operation theaters and has a facilities for conducting the super specialty procedures like Open Heart Surgeries for adults and children, beating heart surgeries, (MIMS has started the International Center of Excellence in off pump Coronary Artery bypass surgery (OPCAB) at its MIMS Institute of Cardiac sciences. MIMS Kottakkal has an excellent emergency and trauma care unit supported by 24 hours diagnostic department and a blood bank which has component separation facility.
MIMS Kottakkal included in the academic activities also. It conducts diploma and degree courses in Nursing and paramedical areas.
Under the charity concern, MIMS doing free and subsidized surgeries to adult and pediatric cardiac surgery patients and free dialysis facility for poor patients. The hospital has decided to dedicate 10 beds exclusively for the patients who come under BPL, Under its charitable wing.
